Workshops, exhibitions and events with cultural wide-angle: The Urban Media Festival Cologne 13 got it all.
50 young media artists, ten countries, one topic: The Urban Media Festival Cologne 13 presents international co-productions under the topic of "occupy culture!" from September 21st to October 3rd.
After the successes of 2009 and 2011 the Urban Media Festival this year again unites regional and European artists, cultural events and workshops, media interested and media making people.
After nine days of collaborative productions the studio doors open at September 30th: The Urban Media Lounge at the Bürgerzentrum Alte Feuerwache
is inviting everyone interested to have a look at installations and projections while having a drink, chat with filmmakers and take part in workshops. Additionally, there is an evening program featuring poetry slam, stummfilm:dj
and premieress of the freshly produced international film works.
From high, sub, leading to protest culture: The topic "occupy culture" raises questions and offers a common platform for the international artists for their artistic examination. A current debate for whose interpretations and results you should be anxious.
The Urban Media Festival Cologne 13 is a project by jfc Medienzentrum e.V. in cooperation with the international ROOTS & ROUTES network
. It is funded by the EU programme YOUTH IN ACTION, the Fonds Soziokultur and the Beauftragte der Bundesregierung für Kultur und Medien.
